Health and Wellbeing
For more than a decade, ADRA South Africa has worked to build community resilience to the health and psychosocial impacts of HIV and AIDS.
HIV and AIDS resilience
Working across gender, age, ethnic and faith lines, we have:
- Reached more than 60,000 people living with HIV through a trained community counsellor (training-of-trainers) approach
- Trained more than 300 pastors and religious leaders in a ministry of inclusive compassion, helping to dismantle stigma in faith communities
- Formed more than 120 community and faith-based support groups
- Launched more than 20 cooperatives with thriving income-generating activities linked to markets
